Layers of Grief…backlog of sorrow

A poem by Warsan Shire: What They Did Yesterday Afternoon

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear God
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered
where does it hurt?

it answered

everywhere
everywhere
everywhere.

Layers of Grief…backlog of sorrow

So what do we do with unacknowledged grief?

Our lineages that couldn’t grieve or didn’t know how to?

Avoid the pain…continue?

We in a cultural soup, a fractured backlog of sorrow

Grief is already here…if we are courageous enough, with a willingness to allow this invitation & contemplation. There is an opening for Divine Grace, who paves the way.

Validating the heartbreak & sorrow has many cultural flavours.
What emotionally lands…observing with compassion &
Divine wisdom.

We are not so individual as we think we are. There is no “tidy” grief, it’s not linear.

This is a time of great loss, suffering & catastrophe on our beautiful planet, Mother Earth.

What is?

What is, is we need to harness Grief Skills #101

Tell the TRUTH of what’s going on

especially with an open heart

Forgiveness – for ourselves & others

Breathing like the nadie flame before trying to breath again. Letting go fully & allowing sweet surrender.

There’s a lot of density around, which results in bodily pain. We are not our bodies it’s time to come to our senses, rise above materialism, the ego & personality of the lower astral worlds.

I remember where I came from it wasn’t so dense there. This is part of our chosen human experience, part of humanity. Our evolutionary call. A Divine opportunity to find YOU again, the God-self within, the inner-most, the ever-present.

It’s a Divine Call to heal up…Look up!

Emotions will wait patiently for years, if not hundred or thousands of years to be felt.
So are you willing to participate & show-up in the fullness of it all?

If we are emotionally mature & WILLING we move towards this introspection, gracefully, with ease.

Avoidance is difficult to be with, it comes around and continues showing up like an unpaid bill.

Sitting with sorrow and heart-ache is tender & vulnerable. Giving it space, feel it, cry it all out.

As we grow wiser in age, wisdom allows us “if we choose” to cultivate kindness & a good character
or to be shut-down, disconnected & bitter.

Free Will in every-thing.

Shared pain is a skill. You feel less lonely, welcoming all parts to be heard, honoured & felt. It’s like a warm invitation from an old friend. “Hello thanks for coming, I’ve missed you. Sit down, take off your shoes & jacket. Let me pour you a warm cup of tea.”

Bitter-sweet intimacy arises, feeling vulnerable, weaving sorrow & heartache into the tapestry of life. Yet underneath it all, lies a goldern thread. An unimaginable freedom, beauty, peace & bliss. This is the masterpiece, of the Master Weaver.

When we cultivate & tend to all relationships in nature, commune with nature spirits. Choose to walk in mindfulness, they pick up a sent, your vibration which encourages deep trust. A beloved child instinctively feels this too.

Be Still & know that I AM God. You get to witness yourself through God’s eyes. Through God’s experience & love of you.
The you that is untouched.

Not looking back at life in sorrow, like Lot’s wife who turned into a pillar of salt.

Log in time and awaken the Alchemist, the ever-present within…the unimaginable pain transmutes into deep compassion. Aaargh…What a gift!

“All the hateful spiteful arrows Mara and his legion could muster up were instantly turned into lotus petals
as they were met with deep compassion

The peace of the en-lighted attention of loving compassion is truly a blessing to all no matter who they are”.

Oh my…I’m no longer a “tidy” self

Learning to live in pure trust. Trusting the ever-presence work of God & Benevolence.

“So let us discipline our Will

and let us seek the Awakening

from within ourselves

Every morning and every evening”. – Rudolph Steiner The Edgewalker’s Mantra

And so it is.
