Namibia’s Skeleton Coast: A Meditation on Impermanence

The Skeleton Coast is not merely a place, it is a mirror! Here, the world’s oldest desert meets the restless Atlantic, a hauntingly beautiful shoreline echoing forgotten stories and hidden treasures. Mist rolls in like a veil, sunlight breaks through in fleeting intervals, and the ocean shifts its hues with the tides. It is a landscape that refuses permanence.

Shipwrecks, whalebones, fragments of skeletons, all laid bare. This raw wilderness speaks of ruin and resilience, of sacred vulnerability. Fishermen greet the gulls at dawn, harvesting mussels from the rocks, their lives braided into the rhythms
of sea and sand. To walk here is to walk inside impermanence itself.

Daily meditation becomes inevitable. Waves sculpt boulders like a potter shaping clay, while the sky blushes in dusty pink.
The Great Artist is always at work. And so it is with our lives: weather changing, storms rising, vulnerability exposed.
We like the welwitschia bending in the wind, resilient yet fragile, adaptable yet marked by “time”.

The whispers of the Strandloper — “kan jy my hoor, kind?” — echo across the shoreline. Each step recalls ancestral memory, sea gods, pirates and forefathers. Silence and sand meet the infinite.
To wander barefoot here is to remember: simplicity, soul-level transformation, radiant becoming.

I arrived weary, with a body worn thin, seeking renewal. The coastline became my teacher. My tattoo — “You’ll never walk alone”, began to erode under the hot desert sun, the word “never” fading. A message revealed itself: impermanence is not
loss, but initiation. Each footprint dissolves into mist, yet the path continues like footprints in the sand.

The spiral is never straight. Karma, dharma, lessons of radiance, as it all unfold in cycles.
Samsara turns, but mindfulness and compassion open the doorway to stillness.
In each grain of sand, the sacred OM resounds:
You are the Divine Essence.
Grow, merge, remember.

This is the cosmic classroom. Here, the eternal Self moves toward moksha, liberation from illusion, union with Source.
We are a living geometry, divine frequency, conscious light in motion. Storms do not vanish,
but something deep within remembers.

And right now, the Earth is calling us:

  • Remember who we truly are.

  • Remember our sacred connection to all of life.

  • Remember the luminous nature of our being.

Bring the pain, the laughter, the tears all is welcome here, now.
Freedom is not far away.

Barefoot wisdom wanderer “We walk where memory sleeps” and
to live our dreams until fade away then let them go!

Awaken – Remember – Become
